About
I am a specialist and consultant in Intellectual Property Law, with a specific interest in the Law of Geographical Indications; Trade Mark Law; Unfair Competition Law and IP & Sustainability.

I am an Associate Professor in Intellectual Property Law at the University of Leeds (U.K.), having previously worked at the University of Sheffield (Lecturer) and Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition (Munich, Germany), where I led the Research Team on Geographical Indications, first as Senior Research Fellow and, later, as Affiliated Research Fellow.

I completed a PhD/Dphil at the University of Oxford and I hold an LLM from the University College London. I graduated from the University of Milan.
I regularly advise public and private stakeholders predominantly on issues related to geographical branding. Among the others, I have cooperated with the European Commission, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation.
My research is award winning and I am regularly invited to appear in international conferences and IP-related events. I am the author of the books The Future of Geographical Indications Law (Elgar 2025) and The Transformation of EU Geographical Indications Law: the present, past and future of the origin link (Routledge 2021).

I sit in the Scientific Committee of various leading associations and institutions such as ECTA and AREPO and in the Editorial Board of the Journal of Law, Media and Innovation.
