2024/2025. New projects and career developments

On the 1st of September, I officially started a study leave period during which I will spend some time as an Academic Visitor at the University of Oxford; participate in a number of Knowledge Exchange events in Europe, and produce new scientific outputs.

In particular, in the following months, among other, I will:1. Work on the 'Commentary on the New EU GI Law' (Edward Elgar [forthcoming 2025]); 2. Focus on new research topics, such as the 'Decolonisation of IP'; 3. Expand my expertise by concentrating more on Unfair Competition Law.

In this context, the paper 'Evoking the Principle of Passing Off to Improve EU GIs Protection,' which I am developing with Jocelyn Bosse (Queen's University Belfast), marks my entry into the area of 'Unfair Competition by Misrepresentation,' a dynamic and engaging field. This project was presented at EPIP Conference 2024, a wonderful event hosted by Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Pisa, Italy).

Finally, on 3 January 2025, I will join the School of Law at the University of Leeds as Associate Professor of Intellectual Property Law.

Feel free to contact me if any of the aforementioned developments interest you. I am always open to exploring opportunities for cooperation.
