From 13 to 17 April 2026, I participated as a speaker in the Graduate Seminar "Zero Hunger's Goal: the Global Challenge of a Sustainable and Quality Food for All" on the island of San Servolo, Venice.
I presented on Sustainability in the Evolution of the EU Common Agricultural Policy, examining how sustainability has moved from the periphery to the core of EU agricultural governance over successive CAP reforms — from early decoupling measures to the Green Architecture embedded in the current CAP strategic plans — and reflecting on the gap that still exists between policy ambition and on-the-ground outcomes.
I would like to sincerely thank the faculty for creating a genuinely stimulating interdisciplinary environment, the VIU staff and all those who made the event possible, and to all participants for the quality of the discussions throughout the week.
