In November 2020, the European Commission invited me to discuss the protection of non-agricultural GIs in the high-level conference 'Strengthening Geographical Indications'.
It was a great day where I have the pleasure to share a panel with top experts su as Anke Moerland and Bernard O'Connor.
Now, the discussion that we had that day has been mentioned in the Explanatory Memorandum for the new Proposal for a new EU Regulation on Agricultural Products and Foodstuffs.
However, we are all still waiting for a EU Regulation for the protection of non-Agricultural GIs. I am looking forward to seeing a proposal soon.
